Most popular flashlights of 2019
After the yearly roundup of most popular flashlights on 3 popular flashlights forums, namely Candlepowerforums, Budgetlightforum and Reddit, here are the top 8 flashlights of 2019.
Here is the combined list of all 3 websites.
Most popular flashlights of 2019
Wurkkos WK30
Not the brightest and not the farthest throwing, but definitely one of the best all-round flashlights!!
- 1* 26650 battery (no battery included) or 21700/18650 with adapter
- 3 reflectors with 3 LEDs, White, Red and UV
Although, a fairly unknown brand, it still made the list of most popular flashlights on BLF and Reddit. The triple emitter with 3 different LEDs is rather unique. It’s an allrounder, but won’t be the best in each category. Having the ability to use a UV emitter could be interesting.
Wildtrail BLF D80v2
Great all-round flashlight
- 1*18650 battery (not included)
- Luminus SST-40 N4 DD 4700-5000K
- SST40 has a max output of 2000 lumens
- XPL-Hi has a max output of 1,500 lumens
- IPX7
With the Bistro firmware, you can choose between about 25 different mode groups. From single mode to multiple modes and even blinkies (Strobe, Bike strobe).
Sofirn C01
Most popular AAA flashlight of 2019
The Sofirn C01 has been the most popular AAA flashlight on Budgetlightforum
- 1* AAA battery (not included)
- One-handed operation
- Runs on AAA batteries (don’t use Alkaline batteries)
- Uses a 5mm High Cri 94 Yuji LED
- Available in 3200K (Warm) and 5600K (Cold)
- 1 mode
- Available in blue and black.
Although not my favorite kind of emitter, it made the top of the list for the most popluar flashlights on Budgetlightforum because of it’s very High Cri LED. It reminds me of the very old and popular Fenix E01. Which has been used by many flashoholics, but I don’t care for it that much.
FIREFLIES E07
Approximately 7,000 lumens!
This is the 2021 model, so similar to the original v1
- 1*21700 battery (not included) / 18650 with adapter
- Large amount of LED choices
- XPL HI, SST20, Nichia etc.
- Measured 6900 lumens!!!
- Max power only possible with good high drain cell like the sony VTC6 or Samsung INR21700 40T
The Fireflies E07 (which I hope to review soon) blows every single-cell flashlight out of the water, including the #2, by a fair amount.. Almost doubling the amount of lumens.
The light can be used with a single 18650 or 21700 cell. It has a Narsil UI firmware on its driver that is also used in the Fireflies ROT66 we reviewed. The E07 includes 7 LEDs instead of the 4 used in the Emisar D4. 1 thing to keep in mind that Fireflies is still a rather new flashlight manufacturer so there have been a few small issues with quality control.
Emisar D4s v2
Extremely bright with lots of emitter choices and extra add-ons.
- 1*26650 battery (not included)
- Great amount of emitter choices: warm white – cool white
- Max 5100 Lm
- IPX8 waterproof
Emisar is a very popular brand amongst flashlight fanatics. The owner of Emisar is a real flashoholic and although not very well known outside the flashlight community, produces fanastic flashlights. The D4s v2 uses the immense popular Anduril firmware that lets you access all kinds of special modes and functionality, including battery voltage measurement, candle mode and many other options that most other manufacturers can only dream of.
To reach maximum output, you need to choose the XPL-HD (5100Lm) , or the SST20 for long range (58,000cd). Buy at Intl-outdoor
Sofirn BLF LT1
Most popular Camping Lamp/ lantern
- 4*18650 batteries (not included)
- Lantern was designed and developed with the help of Budget Light Forum members
- Built-in USB-C charger
- 4*5000K (neutral white) and 4*2700K (warm white) LEDs
- Output 600 Lm
- Anduril Firmware
Fortunately, protected, unprotected button-top cells will power the lantern. Recommended batteries are batteries from known sources like LG, Panasonic, Sanyo and Sony. You can charge them with USB-C. Although the output of 600Lm doesn’t seem much, it’s pointing into all directions. It’s been the most popular flashlight (lantern) of 2019 on BLF and Reddit combined!
Emisar D4v2
Extremely bright with lots of emitter choices and extra add-ons.
- 1* 18650 battery (not included)
- Available with Nichia 219C, XPL-Hi, SST20.
- Max 4300 Lumens
- Optional 18500 and 18650 battery tubes
- IPX8 waterproof
Emisar flashlights are the cream of the crop when it comes to the latest and greatest flashlights. Hank, the owner of Emisar is a real flashoholic and produces flashlights for the flashlight community and not so much for the general user. The D4v2 uses the immense popular Anduril firmware that lets you access all kinds of special modes and functionality, including battery voltage measurement, candle mode and many other options that most other manufacturers can only dream of.
Lumintop BLF FW3A
Definitely the most popular flashlight in the Flashlight communities!
- 1*18650 battery (not included)
- #1 most popular flashlight of 2019
- LED choices:
- SST-20 4000K
- Cree XP-L Hi 3D (neutral)
- Cree XPL Hi 7A (warm)

In 2019 it finally came into production and thousands of flashlight enthousiasts got one. It’s one of the smallest 18650 and brightest flashlights currently available.
