Note: we reviewed several hundred flashlights, and add about 15 new flashlights every month. Many companies claim their flashlights are 10,000 lumens. In many cases, those are exaggerated claims and don’t even come close to their advertised lumen output. In this list, we share some of the best flashlights we tested, that are within 20% of 10,000 lumens. Some are advertised as much higher, but we tested them at around 10,000 lumens at their highest output!

Wuben makes some truly interesting flashlights with their new X series. Their designs are unique, with some very interesting features.

The X1 has a cooling fan built in, that keeps the temperature in check, so even when the output drops from 10,000 lumens to 2,500 lumens, the flashlight can sustain that output for 2 full hours. That’s really good performance with this size of flashlight.

Yes, it does look a little awkward, but its performance is great. It has It’s a little bit awkward when compared to other flashlights, because of the rectangular shape.

The flashlight can be charged with a USB-C cable. Both types of cables work: USB-A to USB-C as well as USB-C to USB-C.

This is why we recommend the Wuben X1, as one of the best overall 10,000 lm rechargeable flashlights:

      1. Dual battery setup

      2. Relatively small for 2*21700

      3. Can really do 10,000 lumens at turn on

      4. It has a high sustained output of about 2,500 lumens, due to the built-in active cooling system

      5. Batteries are replaceable, even if you are not supposed to open the flashlight up.

Nitecore is no stranger to the flashlight market. They’ve been producing robust, high-quality lights for at least 14 years.

Like many Nitecore lights, this Tiny Monster (TM) has a tactical look to it: black and fairly aggressively machined. Build quality is one of those things I feel like Nitecore really excels at. If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s the nice HA III anodizing.

It has a beautiful stainless steel crenulated bezel, that protect 9 CREE XPL2 LEDs, which are actually on the neutral/cool spectrum, around 5200K (this means that the light is pretty cool, but not blueish).

Note: You can’t just put the TM9K Tac into Turbo mode to do a test. Rather, you have to hold the button down in order to use Turbo. That’s why the output drops so quickly. It’s just for momentary 10K use.

A summary of why we recommend the Nitecore TM9K flashlight:

        1. Great for tactical use, where you could use over 10000 lumens with 1 press of a button

        2. Built-in 21700 battery (nonreplaceable) with 5,000mAh capacity

        3. Throws a beam for over 300 yards in turbo mode

Fenix has built some very cool and interesting flashlight over the past decade or more.

One of their trademarks is building upon successful models, upgrading them with new features and new emitters. And that’s what the LR35R stands for. A high power flashlight, that looks like the popular TK35 series.

However, the LR35R is more for EDC use instead of tactical use, because it has only 1 side switch. You can hold it comfortably in your hand, and use the switch for power and mode switching. You don’t need to change hand positions in doing so.

In our test, we measured 8,615 lumens after 30 seconds, and 10,240 lumens at turn on.

This makes it a true 10,000 lumen Fenix flashlight

Here’s a quick summary of why we recommend this flashlight:

          1. Great for everyday use, with 2 flat parts and large pocket clip.

          2. It’s easily rechargeable. You only need a USB-C cable, and don’t need a dedicated 21700 charger.

          3. Can sustain a high output at around 1500-2000 lumens

          4. Fenix has great warranty

I must admit that this is not the most beautiful flashlight in the world. The machining and anodizing aren’t the best in the world. But, at this price point, this is what you can expect.

Especially considering it to be a single-cell, single-emitter, 10,000-lumen flashlight.

And as you can imagine, 10,000 lumens from a single cell can only be very, very briefly. Therefore, you buy a 1,000 lumen flashlight with a temporary turbo mode of 10,000 lumen. You can’t have your cake and eat it.
